SUNDAY, MARCH 11
With Justice Minister Kathleen Ganley and
Assist Peer Support Volunteer Moira Vane
This free-of-cost Peer Support session is a place for new and expecting parents to discuss both the positives and challenges of their journey while juggling the demands of practicing law. This is a safe space to seek solutions to issues we experience together.
The group is open to lawyers and law students with kids up to five years of age.
Each monthly session will be on the following topics, and more:
Getting enough sleep
Flexible working hours
How to discuss this with your employer
Resources available during overwhelming stress
The session will be lead by experienced Peer Support volunteers provided by Assist. Participants are welcome to bring their children, as toys will be provided.

“I was lucky on my first parental leave to find other mothers and fathers going through the same adjustments to parenthood. When I returned to work, they were an invaluable support system for me and my family. I hope that Assist’s new program will give other lawyers who are new parents the same encouragement, support (and sometimes commiseration!) that I was lucky to find.”
